About

Jared Kaltwasser is an educator, writer, and editor based in Northwest Iowa.

He spent 11 years as a reporter and editor at three daily newspapers, a business journal, and an online healthcare news publication. Along the way, he penned an award-winning series on wetlands destruction in Central New Jersey, exposed a lucrative no-bid contract handed to a politically connected firm in the wake of Superstorm Sandy, and documented the real-world impacts of healthcare reform on the nation's physicians.

In 2016, Jared made good on his longtime dream of becoming a teacher. Though his days are spent in the classroom, he continues to write and edit for a number of publications on a freelance basis.

Jared has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa and a master’s degree from the University of Sioux Falls.
